The shop/lab of Textile Dyeing & Printing department was established with the inception of the Institute in 2003, in Morning & Evening shifts under Regular and Self Help Base Program. The shop and labs consist on the basic textile machines of Carding, winding m/e, weaving machines, warping m/k, viz a wiz the necessary equipment’s of dyeing & Printing for Lab for dyeing and printing practical’s.
The textile industry is the largest manufacturing industry in Pakistan. Pakistan is the 8th largest exporter of textile commodities in Asia. Textile sector contributes 8.5% to the GDP of Pakistan. In addition, the sector employs about 45% of the total labor force in the country (and 38% of the manufacturing workers).
